About Us

Heartland Homes KC wasn’t built overnight; it was built from grit, family, and a dream that refused to quit. Our journey has had its fair share of curveballs, but each challenge shaped how we serve our clients today. What started as two solo agents chasing balance turned into a family business built on trust, community, and the belief that real estate is about more than houses; it’s about creating a life you love.

How It All Began

For many years, Jana was a single mom juggling work, raising her son Landon, and running her real estate business solo. She loved her work, but the truth? It often meant missing soccer games or bedtime stories. There just weren’t enough hours in the day.

Then came Jason. He was working at the same company, and eventually after a few awkward first dates we started building a life together. We married in 2011, welcomed our daughter Leah and son Levi, and suddenly had a full house… and a shared dream.

From Solo Agents to a Team

Jason helped Jana find balance, and together we shifted from working as “lone wolves” to building a team. We also hired a coach (one of the smartest moves we made), which helped us stop running in circles and start building something bigger than ourselves.

We learned firsthand that family time matters, but so does building a business that supports that family time. That realization changed how we serve our clients today we know how precious time is, and we fight to protect it.

Dreaming Bigger

Eventually, we wanted more than just selling homes we wanted to live the kind of lifestyle we helped clients dream about. We started investing in rental properties and even launched an Airbnb business.

But the biggest leap? In 2022, we finally bought our dream farm. Chickens, ducks, alpacas, you name it, we’ve got chores for it. It was overwhelming at times (because farm life isn’t exactly a Hallmark movie), but it was worth every bit of the sweat equity.
