Your Kansas City Weekend Guide for October 23 to 25, 2026

Kansas City is packed this weekend. It’s peak Halloween season, the KC Current have a big home match, and pro bull riding is downtown. The forecast also calls for highs near 80 degrees and almost no rain, which is rare for late October.

I’m Jason DeLong with Heartland Homes KC. I’ve worked as a Kansas City real estate agent since 2007, and I spend a lot of time in every corner of this metro. I’ve built over 100 homes and flipped over 150 homes personally, so I know a thing or two about the process. I also know that the weekend events in an area tell you a lot about what it’s like to live there.

This guide covers the best events by category. I’ve also noted which Kansas City neighborhoods each one sits in, because where you play often hints at where you’d want to live. If you’re thinking about buying or selling this fall, you can schedule a quick call with me here.

What This Weekend Says About Kansas City Neighborhoods

When I look at a weekend like this, I see more than events. I see a map of the best neighborhoods in Kansas City and the lifestyle each one offers.

The Northland: Family Weekends Close to Home

Worlds of Fun, Parkville, Liberty, and Riverside are all hosting events this weekend. Buyers who want room for kids, good access to downtown, and a small-town feel keep landing in the Northland. Many homes here were built from the 1990s on. That matters for buyers, because systems and layouts in that era tend to age better.

Johnson County: Built-In Community Programming

Overland Park, Olathe, and New Century all have city- and county-run events this weekend. That’s a big reason Johnson County stays popular with families. Strong parks and recreation programs are a quality-of-life feature, and they help home values hold up.

Downtown, Crossroads, and the Riverfront: Walkable Living

The Current at CPKC Stadium, PBR at T-Mobile Center, the Kauffman Center, and the Fall Crawl all sit within a few miles of each other. If you want to walk to your weekend, these areas deliver. Condos, lofts, and townhomes dominate here, so the buying process is different from a suburban single-family home.

Acreage and Lifestyle Properties: Room to Spread Out

Powell Gardens in Kingsville and the Louisburg farms show the appeal of land on the metro’s edge. I get plenty of questions about acreage. Wells, septic systems, outbuildings, and zoning all deserve a closer look before you buy. My architecture and building background helps clients spot problems early on these properties.

Thinking About Selling in Kansas City This Fall?

Fall is a smart time to plan your next move. Buyers who shop in October and November are usually serious, and there’s often less competition from other listings.

The first step is knowing your numbers. You can get a free home value estimate here. It’s a starting point. I also run a full pricing analysis that looks at aggressive, market, and premium price strategies.

Need to Sell Fast? Compare Your Cash Offer Options

Not every seller wants to fix up a house and wait for the right buyer. Some sellers need speed and certainty. That’s where working with cash home buyers in Kansas City can make sense.

Many cash buyers make a lowball offer and hope you take it. My approach at Heartland Homes KC is different. I evaluate 10 to 12 deals every week as an investor, so I know what a fair cash price looks like. You can request cash offers on your home here and compare them side by side with what a traditional listing could net you.

Selling on the Open Market

If listing makes more sense, the marketing matters. A few photos and an MLS entry aren’t enough anymore. My 100-point marketing plan covers pre-market demand, pricing strategy, video, and targeted outreach. The goal is simple: get you the highest net, not just the highest list price.
